In-line with our Mission to be An Agent of Positive Change, and endeavoring to Empower Women, especially the Differently Abled, Interloop is supporting Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) by sponsoring the First Pakistan Women Blind Cricket Team and ‘INTERLOOP 1ST INTERNATIONAL WOMEN BLIND CRICKET SERIES’ between PAKISTAN & NEPAL, from 28 Jan. to 4 Feb., 2019 in Pakistan.

Earlier, in December 2018, PBCC with support from Interloop Limited selected the first Pakistan Women Blind Cricket Team through multiple training camps. At a Press Briefing, held at Serena Hotel Islamabad on 31 Dec. 2018, Faryal Sadiq, Vice President People & OD / Sales & Marketing Interloop Limited, announced the First Pakistan Women Blind National Cricket Team. Syed Sultan Shah, Chairman PBCC along with Michal Cheyn, Deputy High Commissioner Australia, Mustafain Kazmi, Director General Special Education Bilal Satti, Director Cricket Operations PBCC and Naveed Abbasi, Secretary International Cricket Council of Blind, were also present.

Faryal Sadiq in her address said, ‘Interloop Limited has been keen on community development and women empowerment, and especially on the promotion of cricket for the blind in Pakistan and funding the development of the game at the grass-roots. We are proud to be the Official Sponsor of the First Pakistan Blind Women Cricket Team and the First International Cricket Series with Nepal and hope that they will perform well’. Syed Sultan Shah on this occasion mentioned, ‘The World Blind Cricket Council has officially endorsed the Cricket for Blind Women a few days ago and Pakistan-Nepal Series will be marked as the 1st International Series in the World.

On 28 Jan. 2019, the Inauguration Ceremony of the Series was held at Al-Hamra Arts Council, Lahore where both teams interacted with the media and the Championship Trophy was unveiled. Jahan Zeb Khan Banth, Director Interloop was the Chief Guest while Syed Sultan Shah, Chairman PBCC and Feryal Ali Gauhar, United Nation’s Ambassador were the Guests of Honor.

Teams enjoyed cultural dance performances from all provinces of Pakistan and singing performances by local singers and a player from Nepal’s cricket team. From 29 Jan. through 4 Feb. 2019, 5 (five) T-20 matches will be played between both teams at Lahore, Faisalabad & Islamabad.
