Interloop 1st International Women Blind Cricket Series 2019

In-line with our Mission to be An Agent of Positive Change, and endeavoring to Empower Women, especially the differently abled, Interloop supported Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) by sponsoring the First Pakistan Women Blind Cricket Team and the INTERLOOP 1st INTERNATIONAL WOMEN BLIND CRICKET SERIES (Pakistan vs Nepal), the first ever Women Blind Cricket Series, played from 28 Jan. to 4 Feb. 2019 in Pakistan. Nepal won the series 4:0 but it was a wonderful game of cricket that led the way to aspirations & opportunities and international collaborations for differently-abled women.

Faryal Sadiq, Vice President Interloop Ltd was the Chief Guest at the Closing Ceremony while Syed Sultan Shah, Chairman PBCC; Maryam Aurangzeb, Member National Assembly; Neil Buhne, Resident Coordinator United Nation; Zahid Bhatti, Managing Director GHPL; Saleem Baz, GM CSR OGDCL; Ishrat Masood, Director General Federal Special Education & Jamshed Qazi; Country Representative UN Women were the Guests of Honor.

Faryal Sadiq congratulated both teams on the occasion and said, ‘’Interloop is supporting Pakistan Blind Cricket Team since 2014 in its humble capacity, fulfilling our Mission; To Be An Agent of Positive Change, and we are committed to support differently abled players as we strongly believe in inclusion & diversity. Sports have the power to keep everyone together. It unites different nation & regions. This display of cricket will encourage other people and you guys are example for lot of people around here.” She thanked Maryam Aurangzeb, United Nations, media and all partners of this series.

Neil Buhne, Resident Coordinator United Nation said, “This is a significant day as Pakistan made history and conducted this 1st International Women Blind Cricket Series between Pakistan & Nepal. This is a perfect example of not leaving anyone behind and about excelling what they can do and it is impressive to see support from corporate sector, without their help events like this could not happen easily.”

Maryam Aurangzeb congratulated Nepal team for their great performance and winning the series. She also appreciated the efforts of Pakistan Women Blind Cricket Team for an amazing performance. She specially thanked Faryal Sadiq, other co-sponsors and media for supporting this cause. She thanked Jamshed Qazi and Neil Bhune for their presence and supporting women empowerment in Pakistan.
