VP People & OD Speaks at CERB Workshop

Faryal Sadiq, VP People & Organization Development along with Fauz ul Azeem, Sr. Manager Quality Assurance Lab and Hasnain Abbas, DGM Interloop Way-People, represented Interloop during an interactive panel discussion on Corporate Positioning & Strategy for Sustainability, at Lahore Chamber of Commerce. The workshop was organized by CERB in affiliation with Pakistan Business Council. The panel included Usman Hafeez, Head of Brand & Customer Marketing, Akzonobel, Kamal Mian, Director Fast Cables Limited and Mustafa Ahmad, Manager Environment Health and Safety (EHS), Bullehshah Packaging. Faryal spoke about the strategy for culturing sustainability in the company / at Interloop. She stressed that Interloop’s Sustainability framework is based on the Triple Bottom Line approach comprising People, Planet & Prosperity.

Its focus is on transforming the way we do business; from sourcing responsibly to reducing carbon footprint, from supporting labour rights to taking care of our communities while continuously growing our business. Sadiq also said, ‘That caring for our people and environment is part of our DNA and is integrated into our thinking ways, processes and policies. Like all our business practices, our sustainability philosophy is also driven from our Mission.’ That is why Interloop is investing significantly on sustainable initiatives and have well defined sustainability targets. While answering the question about the tool for implementing sustainable culture at Interloop, she said that the company is engaging ex Toyota Employees from Japan & US to design a structured way for the organization to carry on in a sustainable way. She also spoke about Interloop Way comprising of Lean & People components, inspired by TOYOTA Lean model. She stated, ‘We are simultaneously executing People side of Lean & Process side of Lean models. The purpose is to reduce the wastages and to make people & processes more efficient.
