Interloop Team at TEC Japan for TMS & TPS Training

Since Interloop’s inception, the management has been committed to continuously improve work processes and implement modern world class practices. To enhance its learning about continuous improvement, Interloop organized a Toyota Production System (TPS) & Total Management System (TMS) workshop with American Links and Toyota Engineering Corporation, in Japan from 24th Aug – 10 Sep, 2018. Faryal Sadiq, Executive Director People & OD, Azhar Sadiq, Executive Director Operations, Tayyab Masood, Managing Director IL Apparel, Latif Zaib, Head of Interloop Way – Lean, Shahid Majeed, Head of IL Denim along with the middle Management from across the company were given the opportunity learn and understand the true concept lean implementation. The workshop included class room trainings, practical exercises, and simulation games such as Kanban, Restaurant game.

The key learning areas of the workshop were workplace improvement, quality, speed & visualization, TMS, build quality into process, production management & planning, advanced Kaizen, production engineering & automation, cost reduction and quality cost circles. The course also included plant visits to DADIO; Industrial Robot Exhibition Hall, Toyota Motor Kyushu Miyata; Lexus Plant, DENSO; TAKATANA Factory and TAKE OUT SOLUTION Factory. The participants also visited Toyota Museum, Nagoya and learnt the history of Toyota’s growth and got inspired by its process implantation across its operations. While in Japan, the team also got to enjoy Japanese, Nepali and Indian foods. After exhaustive two weeks of TPS and TMS training, the team spent a well-earned day full of fun and entertainment at Tokyo.
